Name: Jeff Asherwood Email: jeffasherwood@icloud.com Phone: 082 978 1098 This last month, very much like May has provided perfect conditions for flyfishing with very little wind but there have been very few flyfishers around, even up at Vidal which is considered a flyfishing hotspot. A few shad were caught, but they may return in greater numbers when the sardine run on the coast further south ends. Also, not many 3 spot pompanos which normally provide plenty of sport for those using light tackle. We have also had a couple of downpours and the Umfolozi is still flowing well so there is still a good flow at the mouth of Lake St Lucia. We hope it remains open until the next rain season. Illegal netting which is often rampant along our coast and especially at the mouth remains a curse. I have a tackle shop in town if you need supplies and you can also get me at Fat Bike Fishing at https://www.facebook.com/fatbikefishing/.
