Fishing has been really good in the local estuaries which remain nice and clear.
For the first time in a number of years we have plenty of skipjack in our rivers, especially young fish. A good Big-Eye kingfish of 3-4kg was taken in the Gonubie and there are good numbers of garrick as well as the usual grunter and kob. Best time to fish is on the pushing or dropping tide when there is plenty of movement and of course the spring tide is always good.
The only bad news is about the discharge from one of the sewage plants which opens directly into the sea.
