Arthur Cary, chairman of the South Coast Fly Anglers, reports that they have had terrible weather for some time with gale force NE winds and big seas which has made both offshore and rock and surf very difficult. To add to their troubles most of the estuaries are very discoloured after the heavy rains. This being the case the two saltwater outings were not a success but the outing to the Umzimkulu produced some Natal yellows, the biggest being 57cm.
A very eventful trip was had to the Richtersveld where 6 members took about 80 small and largemouth yellows plus mudfish.
Note that the shad season has now closed.
