Hi Everyone,

August and the winds are here, east today west tomorrow with the odd day here and there to tempt you out onto the water, unfortunately it takes at least a day for the sea to start settle down by which time the winds are back, quite frustrating, don't get me wrong the Shad are there and being caught in good numbers at certain points along the coast by bait fishermen, it's just the thought of the smell of bait on my fingers for the rest of the day that puts me off even thinking of trying that route. Shad are being caught as well as Garrick. I was at Winkelspruit the other day for an hour and saw 3 come out in quick succession, caught on live Shad, the method of a long cast with a heavy sinker followed shortly thereafter with a Shad clip-on and slide clip. I very seldom see any Garrick returned by bait fishermen although I'm sure there are certain guys who do so ( thank goodness)

Bruce Black fished Durban harbour recently and found the fishing very quiet, however the Yellow Bill kites have arrived and so the water temp should start to rise and with that perhaps the fish will start to feed with more vigour.

Other than that I do not have any more news.

Cheers

Roger
