The good news for Clarens is that the municipal dam is full again. This dam which is rented by the club was virtually empty last month because the 3 pumps available to pump water from the river were out of order. Fortunately the pumps have been repaired by the municipality and now the dam is full again and stocked last week. The club can therefore offer fishing again in the coming spring and summer.

The Klein Caledon which was fishing well last autumn is now closed until September but stillwater fishing may also be had at lodges like Royal Coachman or Fairview Estates..

Trips are organized to fish the streams of neighbouring Lesotho and the Khatse Dam but these will only start again in September while the yellowfishing of Sterkfontein Dam will only pick up when the water starts warming which will not be before October/November.
